The Web Author is a source of three services and a few internet-related products. All are discussed briefly on this page. You may scroll down or simply click on the subject of interest to you.
Web site creation It is our position that, for most small businesses, a web site is an important adjunct to their marketing programs. It's purpose is to be both a source of information to visitors and to help establish important credibility for the site owner.
We create sites for the internet as we would for an advertising medium, such as a magazine. The Web Author, therefore, would rather inform than entertain, and prefers to motivate instead of titillate.
You have only to supply the basic information about your enterprise, and we'll create the site from scratch. We also ask that you furnish a logo and some quality photos or sketches that illustrate what you have to offer.
Our fee includes inserting "key words" into the hidden html code of your home page and then publishing the site to your existing domain. It also includes scanning your photos and simple retouching should it be necessary to enhance the images.
Not included is the cost of keeping your site on the internet, which is typically $300 per year, or the expense of registering a unique domain name (example: yourname.com) -- $70 for the first two years. The Web Author can arrange both of these necessities for you.
Domain registration service Those who are not ready for internet presence -- but look forward to it in the future -- are well advised to secure their domain names as soon as possible.
Every day, several thousand names are registered by businesses, organizations, and individuals all over the country. Once the names are registered and registration is paid for, the names are unavailable -- gone -- for at least the next two years.
